How
long have you been doing FCBD style?
I started doing fusion style with Jen Nolan
when she was a member of Barika back in 2005. When Jen started teaching
FCBD ® as a member of Trillium, I switched to studying FCBD®.
How long have you been in Tamarind?
I am one of the original members of Tamarind and have been a member since
the troupe was formed in 2008.
What excites you about being a member of Tamarind?
I love the innovation that's generated by the chemistry
of the group. I work with a great group of ladies who is always ready
to "Improv Dangerously". They love the challenges I throw at
them. It's such an exciting and dynamic group! I just love it!
What do you do for a living? Other hobbies?
I am an IT Project Manager for my "day job," in addition to
being a small business owner. In my free time (ha-ha), I really enjoy
reading, gardening, camping, and yes, dancing.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I am hoping to continue traveling to perform and teach throughout the
country and internationally. I see myself continuing my dance journey
in Tamarind. I would like to learn Chinese and Latin. At some point, I
see myself as a grandmother.
Give us one interesting fact about yourself.
I was given my nickname from Jen when I was taking classes with Barika.
I used to attend classes with the Milwaukee Ballet and then go to Belly
Dance classes. As the years wore on, the name took on greater meaning
due to my crazy schedule which always has me on the run.

Jocelyn
"Sauce" Fait is the assistant director of Tamarind Belly Dance
has loved dancing from a young age. Beginning as a classically trained
dancer, her interest shifted to other dance forms as she entered college.
Ten years ago she took her first belly dance class with Elizabeth "SuperBeth"
Fish and has never looked back.
Jocelyn's dance background is varied and eclectic, which comes through
in her improvisations, stylizations, and choreographies. "Sauce"
is known for just that, sassy, complex contemporary combinations and dance
conditioning, not for the faint of hear. She continues to study tribal
fusion belly dance with Zoe Jakes, working towards becoming a certified
Dancecraft dancer and teacher.

How
long have you been doing FCBD style?
8 years, I started as a student of Jenifer Nolan back in 2006.
How long have you been in Tamarind?
I'm a founding member of Tamarind Belly Dance, which was started in 2008.
What excites you about being a member of Tamarind?
I love how many Tamarind sisters I have. I LOVE
the dancing and how we take it to the next level.
What do you do for a living? Other hobbies?
I love crafting; anything that requires sewing, hot glue, and/or glitter!
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I see myself continuing to dance with Tamarind and spreading the FCBD
gospel. I also would like to expand my teaching experience and my vending
business, More Flair by CrystalZ!
Give us one interesting fact about yourself.
I LOVE sparkle and shine! I like to let my creativity flow. And I've been
diagnosed with a learning disability since I was 7 years old.
Classes:
FatChance BellyDance Style
CrystalZ
fell in love with FatChance BellyDance Style (FCBD) Belly Dance when she
saw two ladies, her size, hypnotize an audience with their hips. And she
said "I want to do that!" She began to study FCBD with and has
never looked back. FCBD Style became her focus, her savior, her passion.
CrystalZ has been dancing FCBD Belly Dance since 2006. She is a founding
member of Kiss My Shimmy, Zephyranthes, and Tamarind.
In 2008, CrystalZ became a certified FatChance BellyDance Style teacher.
She began teaching because she wanted to share with other women, "we
all have a Goddess within us" and FCBD allows you to find her. FCBD
is not about what size you are, but about being strong, feminine, and
most of all beautiful. You create this beauty by moving in sync with your
sisters as a group and within this harmony you allow your inner Goddess
to shine through.
CrystalZ
loves to create beauty in her dance and though crafting. She vends handmade
belly dance accessories and clothing under the label More Flair by CrystalZ.

How
long have you been doing FCBD style?
I began taking classes with Jen Nolan in the fall of 2006, and have been
dancing FCBD® since then!
How long have you been in Tamarind?
I am one of the original members of Tamarind and have been a member since
the troupe was formed in 2008.
What excites you about being a member of Tamarind?
I love FCBD®, and am thrilled to be part of
a troupe that is dedicated to original "old school" FCBD®,
but still loves to innovate and come up with new dialect movements based
on original moves. We truly "improv dangerously", and I find
that invigorating! I am also blessed to be part of such a large troupe
of amazing women; the bond we have built has really made all the Tamarind
ladies my sisters. We love and support each other in all things, and the
ability to dance with them on a regular basis is the absolute best part
of being in Tamarind!
What do you do for a living? Other hobbies?
I am the System Bookstore Administrator for Herzing University. I coordinate
the electronic bookstore for the students, and assist them in placing
their orders and accessing their eBooks.
I am a professional
artist, and have been painting since 1998. I have some paintings in a
gallery in Cedarburg, Wisconsin called Studio 6 (http://www.Studio6Artists.com)
and occasionally bring paintings to sell at various bellydance events,
along with vending tassel belts and necklaces. My paintings are acrylic
paints on cotton muslin, and have both influenced and been influenced
by my FCBD® costuming - they are mainly imaginative realism with very
bright colors and just a touch of surrealism!
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I hope to continue to work on my dance, growing stronger and more confident
in FCBD®. I plan to continue to assist in CrystalZ's classes, working
with students to pass my love of FCBD® with them, and also to improve
my technique and ability. I look forward to continuing to work with props
in FCBD®, and bringing more sword into our traditional steps. I hope
to continue to grow with Tamarind as we continue to innovate and improvise!
Give us one interesting fact about yourself.
My guilty pleasure is to go to the movie theater almost every weekend,
and as a result, I maintain a movie review blog at http://www.JWardAdventures.Blogspot.com.
This allows me an outlet to rant about movies, which is one of my favorite
things to do!

How
long have you been doing FCBD style?
I started taking FCBD classes in the summer of 2008 with CrystalZ and
Jeanette! I was looking for an exercise class and Crystal had just started
teaching. I thought I'd never perform, I just wanted to dance for the
cardio - but soon I was hooked! About a year later, I began taking classes
with Jen Nolan.
How long have you been in Tamarind?
I joined Tamarind in January 2011.
What excites you about being a member of Tamarind?
One of my favorite things about being in Tamarind
is the lovely ladies I get to dance with. I have met so many wonderful
people in the belly dance community! I also really love the creativity
and ideas that come from my Tamarind sisters.
What do you do for a living? Other hobbies?
By day, I'm a mild-mannered editor/proofreader at a financial valuation
firm in downtown Milwaukee. Aside from dancing, my hobbies include writing
fiction, reading and rereading comic books, knitting square- and rectangular-shaped
objects, gaming with my husband, and baking delicious desserty things!
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I plan to continue dancing until I drop! Other than that, I'd like to
get some of my fiction published and have been toying with the idea of
going back for my master's degree in English.
Give us one interesting fact about yourself.
I have had my nonfiction work published and won an award from the Wisconsin
Newspaper Association Foundation.

long have you been doing FCBD style?
I was able to start classes through a workplace friend in 2009. I took
Level 1 a few times before moving on to Level 2. I focused on improving
the FCBD® style by taking classes multiple times a week to be able
to take Level 3 classes. In 2011, I was invited to join the student troupe,
Tika.
How long have you been in Tamarind?
After taking classes and workshops and performing with the student troupe
for a year, I was invited by my dance sisters to join Tamarind in 2012.

Each time I have the opportunity to dance with my
dance sisters of Tamarind, I feel empowered to move with confidence, presence
and grace.

that fills my free time is taking FCBD® classes from my dance sisters
to continually improve my FCBD® curriculum.
Where do you see yourself in the future?

around the country.
Give us one interesting fact about yourself.
An interesting fact about myself is that I am a life long learner. I love
learning new things, especially new FCBD® combinations. I feel that
the art of dance is the true expression of oneself and to be able to share
it with the world with my dance sisters is exhilarating!
